The Full Shilling gives the heart of the Financial District a taste of Ireland's old-world ambience. It's proper, it's spacious, and the bar itself is over 100 years old that was imported from Belfast! The craftsmanship here is marvelous; the ceiling tiles, the ceiling beams, the light fixtures, and main walkway really give patron's eyeballs a beautiful experience. Just about everything about this place gives you the feel goods.

When you walk in, you'll notice that it's perfectly lit with dim lighting. The floor tiles are unique, and the ceiling is unique as well, as it sort of arches over you with wooden panels as if you're almost sitting inside of an old barrel. The place as a whole is very clean and tidy, especially the bathrooms. By the way, the toiletries may have the best toilet paper in the entire city! Your tush will thank you for unloading at the Full Shilling.

There are just shy of 20 beers on tap and the selections are very impressive. The Guinness is served in a traditional pint glass and the pours are magnificent. They run steep, though, at $10.00 a pour. The whiskey selections will tickle your fancy and the food seems to be what many people are revisiting for. Their popular dishes are the fish and chips (of course) and Bangers'n'Mash. We didn't eat any food today, however, our friends who have eaten here prior to our visit have all said the food is worthy of the price.

Behind the bar you'll notice a fun tip jar, breathtaking tap stations, Taytos, a couple of TVs for spectating, and an impressive wine selection. There's a service window between the bar and nestled booths to which we had a little fun with. As mentioned before, the craftsmanship in The Full Shilling is truly incredible. If you come alone then you'll have no problem enjoying yourself with all of the beauty, and if you come with friends you'll have no problem finding somewhere to sit as they provide many tables and chairs for gatherings. The patrons at the bar were very inviting and the bartenders seem to give just enough of the Craic to kick off a good time. You'll encounter a few brogues and you're not going to encounter anything unauthentic inside these walls.

The place fills up almost every single weekday for lunch and after work. You'll see a good mix of people socializing and on business. It's not the hardest thing in the world to stumble in here and make a few quick friends if that's what you're into. The Craic comes and goes here.

Many Pubs can look the part but they can't act on it. Some Pubs look beat to hell but know how to provide impeccable Craic. Not too many Pubs can deliver on both the eye candy as well as the Craic. Sure, there are other Pubs that beat out the Full Shilling on all levels, but by no means does that make it a bad Pub. If you're in the Financial District, then you must grab a barstool here. It beats the Killarney Rose and the Irish Punt down the street although it doesn't quite square up to The Dead Rabbit. If you don't bend your elbows at The Full Shilling before you die then you definitely missed out.

Thank you, The Full Shilling! You know what you're doing and we had a lovely time! Till next time, slainte.
