Ryan's Irish Pub. New Orleans, Louisiana.

241 Decatur Street

Guinness Tag: $6.00 | Overall Rating: 8.10

Today's Dedicated Pint: Ryan Klein. Bellevue, KY.

Self-proclaimed as the "Best f***ing Irish Pub in the World", this place definitely provides patrons with a fun time. It's nestled in the French Quarter, and they open nice and early to get the day-drinkers started off right. It's got an old-school vibe out front with a fantastic feel on the inside. There's exposed brick, it's got a well-crafted bar, booths along the wall for an intimate setting, and a long L Shaped counter that fits about 14 people.

The wall decor isn't the most impressive decor that you'll find but it gets the job done. They offer $5 Car Bombs on the daily and their T-Shirts are better than most alongside respectable prices. There are slot machines for the gamblers, an old cigarette machine for the inhalers, and food for the empty stomachs. They offer a jukebox for when the music isn't up to par, and the bartenders are very outgoing.

The draft beer selection certainly gets the job done and the whiskey selection is even better. One gripe about the place is that they serve their Guinness in a 16oz glass. How can one claim they're the best Irish Pub on land and simultaneously serve their guests a miniature pint? Well, Kevin's apparently! Their pours are average at best but perhaps they make up for it with their $5 car bombs.

Kevin's gives us the good vibes. It's not a proper Pub (not that they want to be one), and there's nothing about it that screams out at you in particular. It's a fantastic place to go for downing 5 or 6 drinks with the locals and forgetting about life for a while. The drinks certainly fly off the shelf and the conversations aren't short of laughter. There's a fun barstool in the shape of a horse's ass for a funny sit down as well.

The bathrooms are nice and grungy, the windows are humungous; providing incredible natural lighting, and there are plenty of TVs for watching all of the important games. If you're looking for a spot to watch some sports and get loud then you should probably venture on down to Kevin's. Even when it gets crowded they made the layout nice and open for plenty of standing room.

The Pub comes highly recommended and we urge you to buy one of their "Irish Drinking Team" shirts because hey; they're fun! You're not going to be disappointed when you walk through these doors for an elbow bending session. Well done, Ryan, well done! Another Pub for our "Highest Rated Pubs" list.

Slainte!
