Today's Dedicated Pint: Gabe the Bartender. Cincinnati, OH.

Its bones lay in the Garden District of the Irish Channel in New Orleans and its name is surely unique for the Irish Pub world. Funny thing about the place is that (unless we're blind) there isn't even a single parasol in the entire building. We should have done our due-diligence and asked more about the reasoning behind the name, so with that being said; for those who frequent here we kindly ask you to let us know!

They poured their first Guinness in 1952 and they quickly set the standard for the "Roast Beef Po-Boy". We had to try the sandwich ourselves and we can confidently say that they do in fact have absolutely impeccable RB Po-Boys. We may not have had more than 2 or 3 others to compare it to, however, if you're hungry and looking for a downright messy sandwich that's going to satisfy your deepest culinary desires then we advise you to order one.

Their Guinness rings in at $6 bucks which is nice, although they pour the Black Stuff in a 16oz glass which is a bit of a stinker. They offer an average whiskey selection and almost any local beer you can think of. The only beer that they have from across the pond is Guinness, however. They're big Coca-Cola fans like us, as there are a plethora of Coke signage and memorabilia throughout the place.

There are 5 TVs for the spectators, a Jukebox for the foot tappers, slot machines for the dreamers, and a separate yet quaint dining area for those looking to indulge. The bar itself holds about 11 people with some high-top tables overlooking the magic, and the dining area is cozy that makes you feel like you're right at home. There's Irish decor on the walls and it's rather authentic for the most part, however, nothing in particular will melt your face off with astonishment.

The regulars here are pleasant and always seem to have a good conversation flowing. The bartenders are friendly, chatty, and welcoming who pour an industry standard pour of Guinness. Behind the counter is a little window for the kitchen to deliver food to which is fun and some of the signage on the wall is unique. The bathrooms here have a perfect combination of grungy and clean. The curb appeal is charming, providing plenty of patio tables for patrons looking for a tan. As for the music; it's typically a contemporary vibe when nobody seems to be playing any tunes themselves.

At the end of the day, Parasol's offers everyone some uniqueness, charm, good hospitality, and a handful of Craic. We'd be silly to say that it squares up to some of the big names up in Boston or Yonkers, however, if you're looking for a good time and a good sandwich inside a worthy Irish Pub; you should stumble through these doors for a pint or three.

Slainte!
