Some Pubs have a few good things attached to them and a few bad, leaving them feeling like just another place to grab an overpriced pint surrounded by the same old atmosphere from all of the other average spots. Sometimes you'll get a bar owner that really puts thought and effort into making their place unique and other times you'll get the bar owner who does the bare minimum; barely satisfying the cravings of those looking to kill a few hours.

Finnegan's Easy is a handsome mix of just that; nothing too great but nothing too awful. New Orleans offers Craic Addicts a healthy choice of options to find the Craic, although this one may not be at the top of that list. Let's start off with the stuff that makes the place nice and worthy of a pit-stop.

The patio out back is marvelous; its got greenery, nice furniture, exposed brick, and an overall great vibe. The patio might be a better atmosphere than the interior, although if you're an old school movie buff and music fan then perhaps you'll want to hang out inside. The wall decor is a hodge-podge of sports, music, and film with just a few Irish tidbits thrown in here and there. Aside from the name there aren't too many Celtic touches inside the place. Its definitely got more of a sports dive bar feel to it rather than an Irish Pub feel.

The floor tiles are very appealing and the furniture as a whole is better than many. You'll find better furniture in other nearby spots though, so it's just... good.

There are just 4 beers on tap; Guinness, Sam Summer, Yeungling and Modelo. The Guinness rings in at one of the higher priced Guinness throughout the city and mind you; it'll be poured inside a miniature styled pint glass; one of those that have the look and shape of a traditional Guinness glass but shaves off those desired ounces (not cool). They do offer an above average whiskey selection and their "Soup of the Day" seems to always be "Whiskey" which is fun.

Speaking of food; they do offer grub for the growling stomachs although nothing screams out as anything to die for.

They don't have a dart board but they do have slot machines. They don't pour a very great head of Guinness but they do serve it with a smile. The conversations are friendly and inviting here as the Craic does exist inside these walls but it's a bit slim-Pickens. There's a long horse-shoe style bar that holds a healthy 20+ patrons that's surrounded by booths and tables. The bathrooms are out back by the patio and if there's a long line for the toilet then keep your fingers crossed that it's not raining outside.

Finnegan's Easy is just another place to grab a drink. There's really nothing about it that draws you in or make you want to recommend the trip. The people behind the bar are great and it's really not a bad spot but that's it; it's just there.

If you're a Craic addict in New Orleans then you should pass this place and stumble into The Boondock Saint, The Erin Rose, Ryan's Irish Pub, Pete's, Molly's, Pat O'Brien's, Parasol's, or Finn McCool's. There are too many other options in the surrounding area for the Craic. This isn't it, fellas.
